by publicrecords on July 28, 2011

You really should take advantage of a public records search when you are in the process of buying  a home. With those records you can see what the property taxes have been over the years and verify deeds.

Property Taxes in Public Records Search

You might not have been aware of it, but your property taxes are part of any public records search. You can find out which properties are delinquent, and what the history of the property taxes are on the property.

Some use free public records to know which properties have a lot of back taxes before purchasing it. You can even use property tax results to purchase the home by paying off the taxes. If you lived in Broward county Florida, you could use the Broward county public records to research all property taxes. You could pay off delinquent taxes and purchase the home that way.

If you have found a home you like, you can see how much the taxes have risen over the last decade or so.

Deeds Found in Free Public Records

You can also verify deeds by using free public records. Anytime you purchase a home, you have to register the deed with the county. It is wise to have the deed investigated so that you are legally purchasing the home. It has happened in the past that someone has sold a home that they don’t legally own. This can cause a lot of problems down the line.

When buying a home, you should do a public records search to see what you can find out about the home. You can find the original building plans along with permits for additions and renovations. Public records have proven to be a valuable tool for many looking to invest large amounts of money in a home.
